Bishop Leibold School Early Learning Program for Preschool & Pre-K
Bishop Leibold offers an Early Learning Program for three- and four-year-old children to best meet the educational and social needs of our families and to provide a Catholic faith experience for our youngest parishioners. These state-licensed programs are held at the West Campus and run from September to May in conjunction with the BLS calendar.
· For the Preschool Program, children must be three years old by Sept. 30, 2012 to participate.
· For the Pre-Kindergarten Program (Pre-K), children must be four years old by Sept. 30, 2012.
Both programs align with the Ohio Department of Education's Early Learning Content Standards and are consistent with Catholic Church teachings.
Our Pre-K Program maximum is 21 children. Registration opens February 1, and sessions are filled first-come, first-served. For more information or to schedule a visit, please call the West Office at 866-3021.

Your Child’s Day in the BLS Early Learning Program
· Story & Circle Time allows students and teachers to discuss the day's theme, address calendar and weather, present the letter of the week in conjunction with phonemic awareness activities, incorporate a literature component, and teach songs or poems to reinforce new ideas.· Center Time provides children the opportunity to further explore the daily theme through various age-appropriate methods: art, blocks, games, discovery, sensory table, dramatic play, music, listening, writing, library, etc.
· Small Group Time allows teachers the opportunity to provide differentiated learning to encompass the educational needs of children at all skill levels.
· Religion permeates all aspects of our Early Learning Program. We teach children how to pray from the Sign of the Cross to spontaneous prayers. We teach stories from both the Old and New Testaments, and reinforce these lessons through activities and music. Even our approach to classroom management is to teach and model for students a Christ-like attitude. We start our day singing "Rise and Shine and Give God the Glory," and we end with "I Want to Live as Jesus Did and Do the Things I Should."

Read what our parents say…
"We chose BLS because we wanted our child to be educated in an atmosphere that stresses Catholic morals and teachings. The actions, attitude and spiritual reinforcement of the staff have made us very happy in our decision.” Brian & Julie Wright“We chose BLS because we wanted our son to get an academic program as opposed to a more social preschool program. We also liked the fact that he would be in a Catholic school where God is the center of all learning, and the values being taught at school reflect those being taught at home. At BLS, our son is not just another student. He is a person of value with talents that are being nurtured so he can become the best he can be.” Lynn Roesch
“We chose BLS Pre-K because of the great reputation of the school and the faith-based education. Due to the dedication of the teachers and the staff, BLS offers a truly unique learning environment while providing the right level of nurturing for our child. The teachers were just as invested as the parents in the development of the children …the level of dedication and commitment of those involved with the BLS program is what makes it exceptional and distinctive.” Kelley Goldsmith
